ErgoSchool® Custodian is an MSD awareness and prevention learning program specifically designed for Custodians & Caretakers.  This custom course was created with a comprehensive understanding of the tools, environment and job demands of this critical position and the folks that support staff and students in our schools, Every Day. 

PA day Workshops

MSD Awareness & Prevention 101

Awareness is the first step toward MSD prevention. In this 1-hour introductory course, Custodians learn what MSDs are, how to identify the risk factors for MSDs, and are introduced to the ErgoSchool® Pillars for Prevention that they can apply to their everyday work. Participants also discover self-care stretches to improve their comfort, health and safety. Every Day.

Safe Work Practices for Custodians

This 2-hour workshop goes beyond the basics. Custodians gain the knowledge and skills required to apply the ErgoSchool® Pillars for Prevention to the most common tasks they perform every day. These include moving furniture & supplies, cleaning floors and surfaces, and handling garbage and recycling. 

E-LEARNING Course

Safe Work Practices for Custodians

Participants learn the Safe Work Practices for Custodians in 7 short video lessons.  Task-based lessons include video demonstrations and images of Custodians in their work environment.  Custodians understand how to apply the ErgoSchool® Pillars for Prevention to their everyday work and discover that safe work habits when practiced daily become healthy routines.  By the end of this course, Custodians know how to protect their comfort, health and safety themselves, Every Day.

PEER-TO-PEER LEARNING

Research shows that the most effective method of training occurs when workers learn from their peers. This course gives mentor trainers the knowledge and skills to deliver the ErgoSchool® Safe Work Practices for Custodians training themselves, and to become the in-house experts for MSD prevention.
